Tributes to famous Irish hairstylist Darren Lacken, who died


Darren passed away suddenly on Wednesday.

Crow Street Collective celebrity salon manager and hairstylist Darren Lacken has passed away.

Famous hair salon Temple Bar shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, claiming the award-winning style director had passed away suddenly.

They added that Darren was the “heart and soul” of their business.

“It is with broken hearts that we are devastated to announce that our beloved Darren passed away suddenly yesterday,” the salon wrote.

“It’s impossible to put into words how we feel right now… He was the heart and soul of our salon, a best friend to all of us and the backbone of our team.

“Our hearts are with Mark and all of Darren’s family at this tragic time.”

Friends, colleagues and lounge regulars flooded the comments section with their tributes.

“It’s so heartbreaking. There was such a ray of sunshine in every room,” one person wrote.

“Such a beautiful soul who will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and being in his company. Rest in Heaven Darren,” said another.

“It’s incredibly sad! Devastating indeed! What an incredible man! I send so much love to him, to his family, to his co-workers and of course to all of his friends,” added a third.

“The most beautiful soul ever, thinking of you Mark, your family and the amazing CSC team,” another wrote.

Darren worked as a hairstylist for 12 years before opening Crow Street Collective in partnership with Mark Talbot.

Throughout his career he has received several awards for his work, including an Irish All Star Silver Medal, an Image Magazine Style Award and a Wella Trend Vision Silver Medal. He has also been a six-time winner of the Irish Photographic Awards.

Darren’s client list included many high profile personalities including Phillip Treacy, Cara Delevingne, the late Isabella Blow and Alexa Chung.

His incredible work has also been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and TV shows.
