Toronto neighborhood tries to help hairstylist after landlord ends lease

The landlord has terminated the lease of a Toronto hair salon, meaning a stylist is desperate for a space where she can work.

A Facebook post from a resident of the affected area detailing the predicament says the stylist, named Angie Piazza, didn’t have much luck finding a place in all other lounges and is open at “nothing? Really.”

This even includes spaces such as yoga studios, cafes, private spaces and retail outlets.

She was stationed at hair addiction at 2493 Queen East near Neville Park Rd., where the lease ended. Angie specializes in kids’ cuts and is known for her bright red fire truck chair.

Hair Addiction is closing permanently and Piazza must be out of space by the end of June.

The post has more than 100 engagements and around 50 comments are full of suggestions for Piazza’s next destination. Many people mention places where they have seen chairs for rent.

“I have a few leads. I have appointments to see spots next week,” Piazza told blogTO.

“I’ll either get a job at one of the salons or rent a chair. We’ll see.”

The Facebook post encourages anyone who might be able to help to contact Angie directly using a phone number provided to members of the Facebook group.
