The Delta Record | Infinity Hair Salon moves, continues to offer services

BUCKHANNON — Michelle Nicholson is proud to offer family salon services at Infinity Hair Salon now located at 133 Wood Street. Nicholson specializes in haircuts for women, men and children. She also does other salon services, including foils, colors, perms, and waxing.

Nine years ago, Nicholson graduated from Clarksburg Beauty Academy with her certificate in cosmetology. She then started working with the former owner of Infinity Hair Salon for years. Unfortunately, the previous owner fell ill and passed away. After the death of her former boss, Nicholson worked under her boss’s husband for a few years. Nicholson always dreamed of having her own salon, but the timeline and ownership opportunities didn’t seem to work out until recently. When told by a friend that the location of the old Blades and Fades was going to be available, Nicholson immediately looked into the opportunity and everything fell into place. Infinity Hair Salon has been open for four weeks.

Of all her favorite things to do, Nicholson named color as her favorite. “It’s so much fun to put artistic ability into hair color and turn it into something beautiful,” Nicholson said. “Haircuts are fun; it’s basically the same idea for a certain cut, but being able to style the hair and give it a different twist is awesome.

Nicholson mentioned a plan to eventually hire an additional stylist to help out. She would probably reach out to new grads, like those from the Fred Eberle Technical Center. The stylist also explained that one of the challenges of being a cosmetologist is developing a clientele; new grads usually don’t have this yet.

Although Nicholson is very proud of her new venture, she credited her mother, Lisa Sisolack, who made it all possible. “My mother is the physical owner of the business while I manage and operate everything, including finding another stylist. She has been my biggest support in life and has always encouraged and supported my dreams,” said Nicholson said.

The Infinity Hair Salon is currently open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome and Saturdays are available by appointment only. The building has a ramp at the entrance, allowing accessibility. The stylist is ready to offer evening visits, as well as updates for special occasions, like the prom; however, these services are by appointment only. Nicholson describes her living room as “a friendly, relaxing atmosphere.” Infinity Hair Salon can be reached by calling (304) 460-2074.
