Shear Chaos Hair Salon opens in Chatham | New

Shear Chaos Hair Salon recently held a grand reopening event at its location at 38 Center St. in Chatham. Shear Chaos is now open and welcoming new customers.

New owner Brandi Harris, a local stylist with 15 years experience in the cosmetology industry, has renamed the salon, known for years as Salon Impressions.

Harris worked at Impressions with the previous owner, but when she made the decision to retire, Harris saw an opportunity to have her own salon in the area.

“It’s very exciting,” Harris added of opening her own salon. “That’s what I always wanted to do since I started doing hairdressing, was to have my own shop.”

Shear Chaos offers a wide range of services to local customers including haircuts, extensions, manicures and nail services, permanent makeup and tanning. Haircuts are $18, while highlights start at $70.

Two stylists – Brandi and Randi Harris – will work at the salon.

“There are going to be two stylists in there,” Harris explained. “We are expanding. (Randi Harris) is going to offer permanent makeup, like eyebrows and eyeliner.

A hairstylist since 2007, Harris has extensive experience working with all hair types. Shear Chaos was recently certified in Dream Catchers hair extensions and also specializes in all types of haircuts including longer lengths, short hair and mullets.

Shear Chaos not only provides boutique services at 38 Center St., but also on-site services for various life events including weddings, birthdays, graduations, photo shoots and proms, among others.

“We offer on-site styling services for weddings, proms and different types of events. If they contact us, we can be anywhere,” Harris said.

Shear Chaos is dedicated to not only providing the region with high quality professional services, but also to giving back to the community.

To thank hard-working professionals in the fields of police, fire and rescue, Shear Chaos will be offering a 20% discount to first responders, such as local police, fire and rescue personnel.

In addition, every third Monday of the month, Shear Chaos will make “Make a difference Monday”. A portion of the money earned that day will be donated to a good cause, such as a local family in need.
