GREEN ISLAND, NY – The Village of Green Island celebrated the grand opening of One OAK Atelier Hair Salon at its new Starbuck Island location at 10 Starbuck Drive, Suite 201. The salon is the first business to open in Starbuck’s new development Island. Owners Lilly Miller, Amanda Conrad, Jenn Shea, as well as elected officials were present for the festivities.
Miller was overjoyed to see the show finally come to fruition.
“It’s amazing. It’s better than we even dreamed of. A lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, tears went into it and we couldn’t have done it without it. the entire Luizzi Company team, ”Miller commented on all the hard work to bring it all together.
“We are happy to go to work every day. It’s our happy place now, ”Miller exclaimed of the new dig.
Green Island Village Mayor Ellen M. McNulty-Ryan also welcomed the three owners to Starbuck Island.
“We are delighted to welcome Lilly, Amanda, Jenn and their team to Green Island. The young professionals who have chosen to invest in our community are what make our future prosperity promising and strong, ”commented McNulty-Ryan.
Chuck Pafundi, Project Manager / Real Estate Development Manager for Luizzi Construction Services, detailed the hard work of Miller, Conrad and Shea’s thought process that went into designing the project for the show.
“If you saw the blueprints when we started this place, it looked like nothing, did it. So this is the epitome of custom build design build and they didn’t hire an interior designer, they did it all themselves and a lot of hard work, a lot of meetings, a lot of changes. but I think it came out beautiful, ”remarked Pafundi.
Even on a dark day outside, the natural light coming through the windows also added a pleasant touch.
“It’s so nice to look outside and see the beautiful landscaping and the tenants were so awesome they came and checked it out. We couldn’t have picked a better location, ”Miller noted.
Miller also commented on the interest they generate from new clients already making appointments.
“It’s more equal than we even hoped for. We were criticized just in our first two weeks of opening so it’s amazing. I think at this point you just need to bring the staff here and you can handle everything, ”Miller said.
“Currently we have 12 stylists, so we are looking for a few more. We’re pretty good, but we could always use more, so I think our next goal is to fill it, ”Miller added as he looked to recruit more stylists.
Additionally, Miller detailed some of the services they offer at the salon.
“For the barber side, we do hot towel shaves, we do full barber services. For the ladies, we do smoothing, coloring, cutting, extensions, we do scalp facials. For our aesthetics, we are working on getting our tattoo permit so that we can offer microblades, but at the moment we offer cosmetic treatments, so basic facials, body wraps, things like that, ”Miller added.
The new salon is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The salon will be closed on Sunday and Monday. The salon phone number is 518-238-3349 or email [email protected]
