Lively Hampshire hairdresser celebrates 25 years in business


THIS IS Hampshire’s bustling show celebrating 25 years in business.

Austen’s Hair is hosting a party to mark a quarter century of providing hair services to the people of Botley.

All are invited to enjoy canapes, bubbles and gift bags during the 25th anniversary party on Thursday, September 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A charity raffle with prizes donated by local businesses will raise money for Mountbatten Hampshire hospice and mental health charity Steps 2 Wellbeing.

Austen’s Hair, in the High Street, was launched in September 1997 by owner and manager Joe Austen.

She is pictured (centre) with salon director Robyn Enock and senior stylist Rachel Hanley, as well as preparing the salon for its grand opening, below.

Manager Robyn told the Daily Echo: “The fact that we’ve been around for 25 years is a great achievement. Few companies can say that they have been open for a quarter of a century!

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over these 25 years, we couldn’t have done it without you!”

The salon covers all aspects of hairstyling, including haircuts for women, men and children, as well as a variety of coloring techniques from full color to highlights, highlights and balayage. They do a lot of blow-drying and hair styling, including creating beautiful hair styles for a special occasion, as well as perming and setting up.

“We pride ourselves on great customer service and obviously great hair services,” Robyn added.

“We also believe that the brands we use should reflect the ethics of the business, so we try to use products and colors that contain ethically sourced ingredients, which are over 90% sourced. The products are cruelty-free, so no ingredients, formulations, or end product are tested on animals.They are also sulfate and paraben-free, vegan, and with packaging made from 99% recycled materials.

“We also serve Mozzo coffee which is very popular with our lovely customers.

“It’s a very friendly salon, everyone is made to feel comfortable and welcome, whether they’re a new client or have been coming for 20 years. All the staff are experienced hairdressers, highly trained and very knowledgeable. aware of the products they use, they can offer advice on how to maintain their hair at home.Through continuous training, they aim to keep up to date with the latest trends to cater for everyone.We aim to help you pampered so you can enjoy the relaxing experience of having your hair done.With busy lives, we all deserve treatment and by coming to Austen, we aim to help you achieve that.

Covid was a blow to Austen’s Hair, like all small businesses, but it bounced back thanks to customers realizing the importance of supporting local small businesses.
