Nicky, hairdresser for more than 30 years, opened her new salon in Summer Lane in the very heart of the town with the desire to help maintain the good life of the village.
Hair by Nicky at The Shed opened last week and is already inundated with clients keen to have their hair groomed by the experienced and hugely popular crimper.
Husband Lenny built the state-of-the-art salon on land adjacent to the couple’s home after Nicky decided to resume hairdressing following a layoff during the pandemic.
Now, old clients are returning in droves, delighted that she’s taking reservations again – and the new clientele seems keen to take advantage of the award-winning hairstylist’s expertise as well.
She explained, âThe pandemic set everyone back and I took the time to focus on family life, but I always had the urge to come back to hairdressing, my passion, and I realized that the answer was actually to open a new salon in the village. The goal is to provide excellent service while maintaining the community spirit inherent in Pagham.
âThe response has been fantastic and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Lenny has his own construction business and he has been very supportive and has created a wonderful show at The Shed.
âCut, colors and styling are our core services for both men and women and it is obvious that clients will walk away feeling a million dollars with a hairstyle that springs up their walk. “
At the show’s launch, Nicky was joined by guests Paula Hilton and her daughter Polly, pictured. And Paula said: âNicky is a fabulous stylist and it’s a real buzz to have her in the village. We wish him the best of luck and know that the business will be a resounding success!
