Claudia Goodwin of The Cozy Garden Room beat stiff competition to reach the final of the UK Hair and Beauty Awards online in the categories Best for blondes, Best salon decor and Hair stylist of the year.
Claudia, 32, from Carcroft is a married mother with a four-year-old son and has 17 years of trading experience.
Originally trained with Toni and Guy, she has been self-employed for six years at various salons, but made the decision to start her own business in April last year.
Claudia said, “I specialize in balayage/color shifting and have lived in dimensional coloring techniques.
“I just started my second bridal hair business called Linnieme & Beyond Boho Bridal Styling, a dedication to my mother.
“Brides can come to my garden studio where I do wedding parties for all the bride and groom with cakes and Prosecco, it’s a real treat.
“I never thought I would be so successful. I just had a concept and a vision for an individual personal approach that you don’t hear often in the beauty industry or in my area.

“People loved it. By the time I opened, I had 50 clients on my waiting list to visit my studio. My dreams had come true.”
She continued, “Growing up, my dad was a very dedicated and driven man. I take a lot from my father.
“I would sit and watch him over the years build his own business. Now I understand how much hard work it takes to build yours.
“I was in awe of what he had accomplished and knew I was destined to follow in his footsteps.
“I chose to specialize in techniques that I loved doing and what clients were looking for in my area. I majored in a specialty and it was the best thing I’ve ever done.
“Being rewarded as a finalist is the icing on the cake.
“My decor was built by my husband, my father and my father-in-law. My vision was a comfortable natural retreat where you can relax and be at peace.”
The Cozy Garden Room is located at Lodge Road in Doncaster.
