Director of Fresno hair salon arrested for child pornography

A man from Madera, who is the regional manager of several high-end salons in Fresno, was arrested this week for child pornography.

Michael Diaz, 33, was jailed in Madera County Jail on Tuesday for criminal possession and distributing child sexual abuse images. He was released the same day on $ 50,000 bail.

Diaz works as regional director of Studios Salon Sola. The company has several locations in the Fresno area, including Fig Garden Village, Fort Washington, and River Park.

District Attorney Sally O. Moreno said her department is currently reviewing the case to determine what charges, if any, it will bring against Diaz.

Authorities became aware of Diaz after information reached the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Lt. Brandon Pursell, of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, said.

The task force is made up of federal and local law enforcement agencies in nine regional counties.

Diaz could not be reached for comment on Friday.
