March 7: Beautification rituals are a powerful part of consumer culture that transcends time and space. In the era of “moral terrorism” where “investment” in the body is essential, the beauty salon, a 20th century invention, has become an omnipresent resource for individual fulfillment through consumption. Located across ‘Kesh’, an economy salon is a dedicated marketplace for cosmetology services Targeting India and Nepal with minimum investment, this salon is designed by a 19-year-old boy Daniel Katwal from Nepal. Talking about his background, he is the son of a renowned hairdresser. His father traveled from a small village of Laxmipur in Nepal to create history in the beauty industry and later established a Neel Davids & Academy brand in Nepal and India and also started giving franchises of his name.
A concept by Daniel made this possible by transforming a 300-600 square space into a beautiful model of Kesh Beauty Salon. He is the new CEO of Neel David Salon & Academy in Nepal. The head office is located in Kathmandu where Daniel runs the showroom and handles all the management. Speaking to Daniel, he shared: ‘I saw my dad struggle to make his dreams come true so I decided to quit playing football and came back from the UK to support him as much as possible. . Realizing the fact that Neel david has become a bit expensive for many investors, I begin to develop Kesh as a brand that will be a budget show.
As for the salons that were inaugurated in India, Kesh was first launched in Raniganj, West Bengal by Rajeev who expressed his thoughts, “I was a bit nervous and confused at first, but the facilities of Neel David encouraged me to establish the first branch. . I am happy to be a part of this brand and customer reviews help me grow my business further. »
The next branch was opened in Simara, Nepal by a businessman Sailesh Giri, followed by a third branch in Biratnagar successfully run by Sabita Thapa. Three other points of sale have been signed and will be launched by the end of May.
With a lower budget, this salon is easy to attract customers in small towns especially. Business partners Chandan Patra and Rumi Patra recently opened the head office in Kolkata. While knowing more about them, Mr. Patra said, “I am proud and happy to be part of this franchise. What an amazing concept from Daniel to create a cozy boutique living room that meets modern techniques. Although being a business development partner, this brand plans to explore Kesh in all cities where hospitality, management and marketing training will play a vital role in India and eastern part of Nepal.
The brand in charge, Suhash Kumar, works effectively to develop the brand and also aims to support underprivileged students who aspire to pursue a career in this industry. Today, Neel david Katwal is a household name and Daniel steps into his father’s shoes to make him more relevant and successful.
