The right hair color and the right style are important, and Mikenzie Murphy of Nouveau Day Spa is the go-to stylist of the Tri-Cities.

“She’s the person in town,” said Nouveau owner Kris Waltze. “She’s young, but we let her take over the living room. It also includes the commercial side.

Murphy, 25, is the mother of two little girls. She has been doing hairstyles and nails for seven years and makes it her mission to stay on top of trends.

She is one of only two stylists in the Tri-Cities to be certified in Habit Hand Tied Hair Extensions.

“No one really liked glue or tape,” Murphy said of other types of extensions. “It looks more natural. “

The key to making customers happy is to listen to their needs, make their vision a reality, or be honest if what they want isn’t possible. But the key among all of this is having the skill to get the right cut and color.

Murphy makes sure everyone leaves happy.

“I love my job,” she says. “I don’t think I could do anything else.”
